The Driver Assessment and Appeal Division (DAAD) of the secretary of state’s office serves as an avenue of appeal for the average driver seeking reinstatement of a license revoked by the Michigan Secretary of state for too many points, too many chargeable accidents under MCL 257.320
The DAAD, is the exclusive avenue of appeal for drivers whose license have been revoked and denied as a result of multiple drunk driving offenses. See MCL 257.303(4)
Under the new Super Drunk Law, ( BAC above .17) the DAAD must also approve the removal of any interlock device installed for a conviction.
