Michigan has some of the toughest laws on the books when it comes to Drinking and Driving. There are four possible outcomes:  1) Operating Under 21 With any BAC.

2) Operating While Visibly Impaired. 3) Operating While Intoxicated.  4) High BAC/Super Drunk.

Each offense carries driver license sanctions depending on the individual’s overall driving history.

Each offense carries driver responsibility fees to the state of Michigan.

If you are ever stopped for a drinking and driving offense, do not give the police any information on your alcohol consumption or where you are coming from.  Be polite, but remember that your right to no self-incrimination is yours to be exercised.  Cooperate, but do not give any statements.  Call an attorney as soon as possible.

If you or someone you know has recently been stopped for one of the above offenses, be sure to call a lawyer that specializes in Drinking and Driving Offenses.  This legal arena is very technical and includes both the state court system as well as the Secretary of State.  There are different sanctions from each branch, and it is important to be represented by someone who understands the implications of each.
