THE LEGAL ADVOCATOR

The Legal Advocator was launched June 1997, in Farmington Hills Michigan. The free legal publication was the brainchild of Mount Pleasant, Michigan Lawyer, Todd Levitt. The idea for the paper was to provide citizens with information regarding the laws in terms they could understand. Two years later 20,000 copies a month were distributed throughout Metro-Detroit court houses, grocery stores, retail stores, and many other locations, where the free paper could be picked up. A dozen lawyers contributed monthly columns to the publication. After four years and a demand on his time as a lawyer, Levitt shut the successful publication down to the sadness of many. Fast forward to the age of the internet, where once again, the Legal Advocator is reborn. November 1st, 2011 is the launch date for the online version of the well-known publication. Returning columnists include: Erin Regan Collins, Steve Lehto, Robert Piziali and Todd Levitt.

More than a dozen new attorneys have signed on to contribute in areas such as, Family Law, Probate, Elderly, Civil, Landlord Tenant, Constitutional Law, Federal Law , Intellectual Property, Immigration and other areas of law that effect all of us. www.thelegaladvocator.com

Contributing Columnist Steve Lehto

Education

Steve attended Oakland University in Rochester and obtained his B.A. in history in 1989. He attended Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, CA and received his J.D. in 1991. Admitted to practice in Michigan that same year, he has been practicing state wide with an emphasis on Lemon Law claims and Consumer Protection issues. Besides claims involving automobile warranties, he has represented countless Michigan residents who have purchased defective products, including everything from recreational vehicles and boats, to sewing machines and furniture.

A Proven Record

Steve Lehto has been practicing exclusively in the field of Michigan Consumer Protection and Lemon Law for almost 20 years. In that time, he has represented consumers who have had the misfortune of buying defective cars, trucks, SUVs, sewing machines, personal watercraft, boats, RVs, furniture, appliances and more. In that time, he has gotten countless vehicles re-purchased by the manufacturers, and obtained money damages for thousands of consumers. Unfortunately, most big businesses will not take care of you when they sell you a defective product they cannot repair. The good news is that the laws can protect you, and help you get your money back.
